Devices can be configured in SolidRed individually or via a use case. The first option is called Device configuration while the latter is Configuration management.
Each device can be configured individually by clicking on the Configure device option, available in the sub-menu visible after clicking the vertical ellipsis next to the device.
In the screen displayed afterward, the user can review if the device belongs to any use case and add or edit configurations.
The configuration management allows the users to create sets of configurations which can then be applied to any of the devices in the system. To access, click on the vertical ellipsis next to the search bar in the asset tree, and then, click on Configuration management.
In the following screen, as shown in the example below, the following actions can be done by the user.
Search: search function for the created use cases.
Refresh: reloads the use cases list.
Add use case: creates a new use case after establishing the respective set of configurations.
Sub-menu: available next to any use case in the list, the sub-menu contains the Duplicate use case and the Delete use case options.
Use case: clicking on any of the use cases available in the list allows the user to enter the edit view of the use case and to assign or remove devices from the use case.
After clicking on any of the use cases a screen will show with the following options:
Detail: to edit the title and description of the use case.
Device type: gives insight into the type of device the use case is for.
Configuration: to visualize and edit the configuration of the use case.
Assigned devices: to manage the devices assigned to the use case in question.

Search for the asset or device that you want to apply the use case, and in the devices that match the search select the ones to apply the use case. After that, click assign to add the devices to the use case in question.
The list of assigned devices to the use case will show in the Assigned devices tab. The user can remove the device from the use case by clicking on the unlink icon next to the device.
